A NEW TOOTHBRUSH AS A SYMBOL OF HOPE

This week, I received good news from friends. In their email, they wanted to let family and friends know that their second son joined them last week. The family's dream finally came true! Their son is a cute six years old boy from Africa who was supposed to arrive three years ago. 


Having a new baby in the family is always a happy event. 

When the child comes because of an adoption, the family has to work on legal procedures and wait for a long period of time. Intercountry adoption is governed by both the laws of the country in which the child lives and the country in which the adoptive parents live. The process is also regulated by International laws. 

My friends did something very interesting. For emotionally getting ready and being prepared for the arrival of the new family member, my friends put a new toothbrush in the bathroom. It was a really powerful image.

However, due to the large number of babies used for organ trafficking, the country shut down all international adoption procedures in the middle of the adoption process and a mix of hope and despair emotions came across all these years to this family waiting for the new member to come. During two years, my friends didn't know for sure if the adoption could be possible. However, they never took the four toothbrush from the bathroom away.

What an admirable attitude of these parents! Visualizing the four family members together with four toothbrushes in the bathroom for more than three years! In they heart, they never entirely lost hope. Finally, their dream came true and the family members could reunite last week. Congratulations!
