ACHIEVING GOALS

What's a goal? Goal is where we want to be. We are in A and we want to be at B. B is our goal. To reach that goal, first of all, we need to define it very, very well. Second, we need to design steps to get it. Third, we need to evaluate our personal resources and potential obstacles that we nay face. Visualising these three points, we can reach our goal.

Let's start. First let's define what a "SMART goal" is.

S= Simple
M= Measurable
A= Achievable
R= Realistic
T= Timing

For example, imagine you say that you want to be rich. Is it a goal? No, it is not. May be, we can define it as a nice dream. To become a goal, we need to set up the five points ahead. Therefore, let's set  properly your goal. It could be something like... to get a thousand dollars more every month. Great! It's a simple idea and you can quantify it ($ 1,000). It is achievable within your personal parameters. It is also realistic (according to your personal resources and obstacles). But, is anything missing? Yes, it is! In order to do it, you also need to set the time to achieve it. How long do you think that you can earn $ 1,000 more, monthly? In one month or maybe in one year? So, we need to redefine your goal. Your goal is to earn $ 1,000 more, monthly, within the next nine months. This is a SMART goal.
It is also necessary to write it down on a piece of paper. Define the five SMART points, all the steps to reach your goal, your personal resources and possible obstacles. Then, hang this paper up on a prominent place like the refrigerator or the mirror in the bathroom. Thus, you can read it at least once per week and remind yourself what you want to achieve.

Let's do it! You will make it to happen.
