This afternoon a dear friend of mine invited me for dinner. Her cute baby is already six months old. Time flies, doesn't it? I remember when I met my friend Sara around six years ago. Back then, her life was pretty different. Her boyfriend was an outgoing man who loved party; instead, she would rather meet her friends for dinner in a quite restaurant. That is an interesting couple, I thought. Sometimes, opposite people match very well. In their apartment my friend Sara and her boyfriend lived with some other roommates. One of them was a friendly and quite man originally from Peru. Many years ago they had met in a hospital back in their country of origin and after meeting once more in the US, they became roommates.
For Christmas, Sara told me that she had broken up with her boyfriend. They remained friends; but, they were living apart. She moved out to another apartment and the quite roommate moved out with her.
By spring, laughing, Sara told me that his quite roommate had asked her to be his girlfriend. He told her that he had always been in love with her, but he had never dared her to tell it before. Because of her surprise, Sara's friend required her to take her time and give him an answer by the end of the summer; that's it. If she refused, he would go back to Peru. Sara told me nothing about her feelings towards her roommate. So, we didn't talk about it anymore.
For Sara's birthday in August, I invited her for lunch. To my surprise, my friend showed up with her roommate. Moreover during lunch, Sara's roommate raised his glass of wine and wished a very happy birthday to the future mother of his children. Listening, I said nothing. Days later, Sara told me what happened during the days before her birthday. Sara and her friend decided to give a shoot to their relationship. Telling me the story, she was assertive and described her boyfriend as a good man, homey, and who doesn't enjoy partying so much. She added that it was very easy to be with him.
Three months later, Sara and her boyfriend went to New York city for vacation. During the trip, Sara's boyfriend gave her the engagement ring and asked her hand in marriage which she happily accepted. A few months later, they moved out to another apartment in another neighbourhood. One year later, my friend wanted me to help her to choose her wedding dress. It was time to get marry.
A few days before going together to buy Sara's wedding dress, I helped Sara out with some other errants for the wedding day. I remember that cold evening, behind a dim light of a street lamp waiting for the bus. Bubbling, I asked her:
I have no doubt that their relationship will last forever¡
Sara's and her husband's firm belief that this is going to be forever will make it to happen. After five years, their relationship is stronger than ever and love is deeper.

- I know this is not very romantic, Sara. But, have you considered to consult a lawyer? You have a wealthy family and who knows what the future is going to be.
- No, Marta. I haven't... this is going to be forever¡ Sara replied with a big surprise. Her tone of voice was a little bit disappointing, too.On the bus, we were silent for a while. Thinking of my friend's response, I had nothing to add.
