Yesterday, my good friend Robert invited me to have lunch with a very peculiar group. These people or their spouses are Veterans, most of them middle-aged, and entrepreneurs.
The fact that they were in the Army gives them identity as individuals and as a group. They love their country; there is a brotherhood among them; and they want to succeed. The group is called Veterans Business Owners Initiative (VBOI). Their theme is "The quality that make a good warrior also make a good entrepreneur".
The group has people of all ages. However, most of them are middle-aged men and women. Rather than fear, being older gives them courage and experience. These people know what they like; they know what they can do well; and they want to work. Life can give them a new opportunity.
They are entrepreneurs. In the past and for different reasons, the majority of them lost their jobs. However, they are not looking for a job. They want to create their own company. They enjoy working on what they like to do and they support each other as a member of the VBOI group. Surprisingly, some companies have managed to make big profits in just two years.
It was delightful to have met these entrepreneurs because these people are nice people and they see future with optimism and passion. The fact that they were in the army unites them. Cooperation, mutual support, and positivism are the key. Success is already a reality and that positive energy is contagious.
