The Catalan psychologist, Enric Corbera, claims that successful individuals are those who are capable to integrate their shadow; integrating one's shadow is the the key of success. I was also listening to Dr. Isaac Jauli, another Catalan psychologist, explains how we can control the shadow in order to be able to achieve success.
So, let's start to learn what the shadow is.
According to Carl G. Jung, the shadow is an archetype, a pattern. The shadow is the internal aspect of evil within the human being. It is the secondary personality dissociated in us, like Mr. Jeckyll and Mr Hyde. When the shadow is repressed or avoided, it can be very powerful.
No matter how, the shadow is always present in our lives and it obsesses us. It is precisely the shadow, what we do not want to see in ourselves, we see in others. We project our shadow out of us on others. It is like a mirror.
But, the shadow can not be avoided; it always returns. Only when we integrate the shadow, when we accept our two sides, the shadow loses its value.
The key to success is to be open and accept our shadow . Accepting the two parts of ourselves, we are integrating.Only when we are accepting what we do not like of us, facing our fears, we can transcend them.
When we deny our dark side, its power grows and we destroy ourselves and others.
Below, there is an audio-video talking about the shadow
